Travel with Twins: AKS Hinitsa Bay, Porto Heli

Our first beach vacay with our twins was when they were 8.5 months old and it was amazing. Every “first trip” with babies is complicated, but when you stay at a stroller and baby friendly hotel that is family oriented, then everything magically goes well. And in AKS Hinitsa Bay Hotel we were in good hands.

The hotel is beautifully situated at Hinitsa Bay in Porto Heli. It is a big hotel, ideal for families with babies or young children. I totally recommend it if you want to enjoy your holidays – and not keep on working hard for your twins/kids 24/7, like you do at home.

AKS Hinitsa Bay Hotel is 100% baby friendly

Baby seats: I was delighted to see that the restaurant and bar areas were equipped with the same kind of baby seats we have at home: for babies – not toddlers or kids.
Baby meals: All hotels we’ve been to with the twins offer baby meals. But here, it is the rule, not the exception. The kitchen prepares baby meals every day. You can request the meal at breakfast and then ask it to be delivered at your room or served at the restaurant.
Stroller friendly: The hotels is 100% accessible. You can even go all the way to the beach with the twin stroller.
Baby sitting: We don’t have a personal experience, but would definitely take the option if we had stayed there longer.

AKS Hinitsa Bay Hotel is 200% kid friendly

Food: The large buffet is ideal for families with children who swim and play around all day and therefore are hungry every 20 minutes. Therefore, I recommend the half-board option (and not just breakfast). The variety of foods can turn even the most difficult picky eater.
Activities: There is a sandy beach, a baby pool, a tennis court, a cinema, a playground and many kids activities.
Connecting rooms: Ideal for a family of four. You need space and you are going to need privacy too.

The views…

Half rooms have sea view and the other half mountain view. The nature of the area is unique and the bay is lush. The view from our room was as if we were on a ship and had the sea on our feet. We wake up to a panoramic image of the bay, the Hinitsa islet, Spetses island, Peloponnese on the background – we didn’t even have to get off our bed to enjoy the majestic scenery. The babies really enjoyed their lunch at the balcony, the view was great for their appetite.

You can enjoy the same view from the corner restaurant, while the snack bar also offers pool views.

The private beach

That’s the best part. Mostly sandy and with crystal clear, azure waters, the beach is baby friendly, pretty shallow for kids to play and there are many sunbeds and a beach bar for parents to enjoy themselves as much.

The pool

There are sunbeds, a snack bar, shower, free towels, a baby pool and a shallow bigger pool with great panoramic views. Just enjoy.

The Food

Restaurant: It is huge. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s buffet based and the variety is vast. There are mostly different dishes at every meal. There is kids options as well, like fries and pasta. Don’t forget the ice cream bar, the fruit table and the coffee corner!
There is both in and outside area, with panoramic views to the bay.
Snack Bar: Just next to the pool, overlooking the private beach is the summer snack bar. It serves menu based dishes, all top quality. The prices are reasonable.
Beach Bar: On the beach.
Room Service: Almost the same menu as the snack bar. You can enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner inside or on your private balcony.

Nearby excursions

That’s the best of the best part. There are boats leaving the hotel deck to Hydra and Spetses island. Fyi, those are two of the top 10 greek islands and you can go on a day trip from the hotel. Just do it.
