What are some must-visits in Stockholm with toddlers?

Stockholm is one of our favorite cities to visit with young kids! The playgrounds are unlike anywhere in the world, I highly recommend visiting a few during your stay. Junibacken is a must if your kids are familiar with Pippi Longstocking as well as wandering the streets of Gamla Stan. Skansen is a really fun outdoor museum where you can easily spend a few hours wandering around.

As always, Stockholm doesn’t disappoint with the playgrounds! We visited some awesome ones on our trip last year and found this one a few days ago.

What are some toddler friendly activities?

The playgrounds are a must! Each is so different with so many amazing structures and play areas. We had so much fun exploring the various playgrounds around the city!

What are your favorite restaurants or cafes that were really toddler friendly?

Gamla Stan has lots of family friendly dining options, one of our favorites being Michelangelo which serves yummy pasta. For dessert, head to Under Kastajen which is very family friendly.  Swedish meatballs are a must try while in Stockholm though our favorite place, Bakfickan, isn’t especially toddler friendly.  Another option that is very family and toddler friendly is in Gamla Stan, Slingerbulten.

Could you recommend any family friendly hotels or city areas ideal for families to stay?

We have been to Stockholm twice now and love the Hilton Stockholm Slussen for families.  The hotel is a short walk to Gamla Stan and right next to a train station, making it a great location for getting anywhere in the city.

Stockholm has enough to do to occupy you for weeks however if you want to venture out on day trips, there are many options. Some of these are Uppsala, Mariefred and Sandhamm.
