Ubud is surrounded by rice fields. The most famous are the paddies, where rice is grown in man-made terraces on the hill sides. It’s a bit far from the village, so you’re gonna need to drive there. There is also a hiking trail that leaves from Ubud, close to the Lotus Garden. Walking it is an amazing experience. If only to admire the grandiose nature of the island of the gods. If you run into a fruit merchant, definitely try 2-3 passion fruits. And end your day there with a meal made from local ingredients at the organic farm on your way back. Dreamy…
